How to download
WalkSafe is free to use and available to all Birmingham residents, students, visitors, commuters, and those working in the city.

Voting in Birmingham Local Elections: Thursday 7 May 2026

You can use this service to:
- get on the electoral register so you can vote in elections and referendums in the UK
- opt out of the ‘open’ register – the version of the electoral register that’s available for anyone to buy
- update your name, address or nationality by registering again with your new details (if you live in the UK)
There’s a different process to register anonymously, for example if you’re concerned about your safety or the safety of someone in your household.
You can check if you’re already registered to vote by contacting your electoral registration office.

Voter ID
You will need to take photo ID to vote at a polling station in this election. You do not need your poll card to vote. You must vote at your assigned polling station. Check the list of accepted forms of photo ID.
Where to vote
Your polling station address should be on your poll card, delivered by post before the election. If you haven’t received one, or aren’t sure where you should vote, you should get in touch with Birmingham City Council:

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm on polling day.
Former Parish Councillor, Eric Carter BEM, Legion d’honneur and Freeman of the Parish
/in News /by ClerkIt is with great sadness we wish to inform you of the passing of founding Parish Councillor, Eric Carter BEM, Legion d’honneaur and Freeman of the Parish. Who passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday 12th January 2026.
The funeral service for Eric will be held at Waseley Hills Crematorium, New Inns Lane, Rubery, Birmingham, B45 9TS on Thursday 29th January at 3pm.
Anyone who would like to attend is most welcome.
